Affiliate & Referral Policy

Hope & Freedom University (HFU) exists to support healing, recovery, and long-term transformation through education, structure, and community. Our affiliate and referral program is designed to increase access and awareness to these resources—not to incentivize pressure, persuasion, or sales-oriented behavior.

This policy outlines how affiliates may ethically and appropriately refer individuals to HFU offerings.

Guiding Principles

All affiliate and referral activity within HFU is guided by the following commitments:

• Client-centered care: Recommendations should always be made based on what is appropriate and supportive for the individual.
• Ethical clarity: Financial incentives must never influence clinical judgment, coaching posture, or recovery recommendations.
• Transparency: Affiliates are expected to disclose their affiliate relationship when sharing HFU resources.
• Integrity over income: HFU values trust, alignment, and long-term impact more than volume or sales metrics.

Affiliate Eligibility

Affiliates may include:

• HFU alumni
• Certified Hope & Freedom Coaches (CHFCs)
• Certified Hope & Freedom Practitioners (CHFPs)
• Approved partners or collaborators

All affiliates must be approved by HFU and agree to abide by this policy.

Affiliate Compensation Structure

HFU uses a product-based affiliate model, meaning compensation is determined by the type of product referred—not by the role or status of the affiliate.

1. One-Time HFU Course Purchases

Examples include:

• Sex Addiction 101
• iRecovery 101
• Beginning Recovery courses
• Course bundles

Affiliate Benefit:

• 20% commission per completed purchase

Commissions are tracked through Kajabi affiliate links and paid according to HFU’s standard payout schedule.

2. HFU Membership (Recurring Subscription)

Affiliate Benefit:

• 25% recurring commission

Commissions end if the membership is canceled.

3. Professional Referrals (Coach or Practitioner Training)

Referrals of clinicians or coaches into CHFC and CHFP training are not commission-based and are granted upon the completion of the certification.

Affiliate Benefit:

• Flat referral credit of $300 for CHFCs
• Flat referral credit of $500 for CHFPs

Credits may be applied toward:

• CHFC or CHFP tuition
• Renewal fees
• Advanced certification tracks

This structure protects ethical boundaries and maintains professional integrity.

Commission Payment & Refunds

Affiliate commissions are subject to a 30-day holding period before payment. This holding period allows time for refunds, cancellations, payment disputes, chargebacks, or other adjustments to be processed before commissions are finalized.

Commissions are earned only on eligible purchases for which HFU has received and retained payment.

• If a purchase is fully refunded during the 30-day holding period, no commission will be paid on that purchase.
• If a refund, chargeback, or payment reversal occurs after a commission has already been paid, HFU reserves the right to deduct the corresponding commission amount from future affiliate payments.
• For recurring HFU memberships, commissions are calculated only on subscription payments successfully received and retained by HFU. No commission is earned on refunded, disputed, failed, or reversed payments.
• Commissions will be paid after the applicable 30-day holding period according to HFU’s established affiliate payout process.

HFU reserves the right to review and correct commission calculations when necessary to account for refunds, cancellations, duplicate transactions, payment disputes, or other transaction adjustments.

What Affiliates May NOT Do

To protect clients, coaches, and the HFU mission, affiliates may not:

• ❌ Pressure individuals to purchase HFU products or services
• ❌ Present HFU resources as a substitute for therapy or clinical care
• ❌ Offer guarantees of outcomes, recovery, or results
• ❌ Use sales-oriented or fear-based messaging
• ❌ Receive commission on therapy, intensives, clinical disclosure, or polygraph services

HFU reserves the right to revoke affiliate privileges if these boundaries are violated.

Disclosure Requirement

Affiliates must clearly disclose their affiliate relationship when sharing links or recommending HFU products.

Example disclosure language:

“I’m affiliated with Hope & Freedom University, and I may receive a referral benefit if you choose to enroll. I only recommend resources I believe are appropriate and supportive.”

Ethical Use of Affiliate Links by Coaches

For CHFCs specifically:

• Affiliate links should be shared as optional resources, not requirements
• Coaching sessions should never be contingent on purchases
• Coaches should avoid earning commission on products they are actively coaching a client through

When in doubt, coaches are encouraged to prioritize clarity, consent, and client wellbeing over affiliate benefit.

Policy Updates & Oversight

HFU may update this policy as programs evolve. All affiliates will be notified of significant changes.
